Feb. 10: Philly Prison Oversight Advocates Meeting

After all of our years of work, the authorization to officially create the jail oversight board for Philadelphia County will be on the ballot in the May primary election. Now that this step has been completed, we need to start planning how to let people know about the ballot question and the horrible conditions in the jails that gave birth to it.
Please join us for this Prison Oversight Board Advocates meeting to discuss the oversight legislation. We’ll cover what it says, our next steps leading up to the ballot initiative in May, and how we plan to engage the public on this issue leading up to May.
Please come and invite others who care about holding the jails accountable for:
- 50+ deaths in the jails over the past couple years,
- constant medical neglect,
- unsanitary conditions throughout the jails,
- locking up drug users they can’t take care of,
- no out-of-cell time for people,
- abuse of solitary confinement,
- and anything else!
