May 13: Speak Out for a People’s Budget for Philly
April 21, 2025
Tuesday & Wednesday, May 13-14, 2025 | 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. & 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Philadelphia City Hall, Rm. 400
1400 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Philadelphia, PA
The Alliance for a Just Philadelphia is going on the record at the budget public testimony! We are demanding a People’s Budget that works for ALL Philadelphians and will reject austerity measures and tax breaks for billionaires.
Philadelphia needs a People’s Budget now more than ever. The Trump administration is threatening major federal cuts to healthcare, education, and more, and everyday Philadelphians are struggling to have their basic needs met. Our city budget must invest in essential services and programs that keep our communities safe, healthy, and whole.
What does a People’s Budget mean? It means we need the budget to BE ABOUT US! That means investing in safe healthy homes, worker protections, public spaces, mental health care, immigrant support programs, schools, and more. Instead, Mayor Parker’s proposed budget once again funnels hundreds of millions of dollars into prisons and police in order to criminalize Black and brown people, which makes us all less safe.
JOIN US! On Tuesday, May 13 at 9:30 a.m., ALC and other members of the Alliance are going to City Hall to pack the room and have our voices heard! Testimony goes on for the whole day, so you can also show up whenever works for your schedule that day or on the 14th.
