Join Jerome “Hoagie” Coffey’s family, friends, and supporters to show the court that our eyes are on this case and we are determined to see justice!
In 1994, Jerome “Hoagie” Coffey was convicted by a jury trial for the death of Johnny Moss, Mr. Coffey was poorly represented at trial. For example:
- no physical evidence links Mr. Coffey to the case
- affidavit of probable cause supporting the arrest warrant was tainted
- pretrial line up tainted
- defense witnesses for alibi ignored
- failure to disclose exculpatory evidence by prosecution
- prosecutor’s witness contradicted their sworn testimony
Abolitionist Law Center attorneys Rupalee Rashatwar, Bret Grote, Quinn Cozzen, and Lolo Serrano, along with attorney Martha Conley, “the first African-American woman to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh Law School,” unraveled the constitutional violations in Mr. Coffey’s case.
