The Post-Conviction Relief Act is one of the only legal mechanisms through which incarcerated people in Pennsylvania can challenge their convictions after trial or plea.

Yet the PCRA process is notoriously restrictive, confusing, and often inaccessible—especially for people navigating it without legal representation. Barriers such as strict deadlines, narrow interpretations of “new evidence,” limited access to legal support, and procedural dismissals routinely prevent people from receiving meaningful review.

This teach-in responds to those obstacles by bringing together directly impacted people, legal workers, organizers, and community volunteers to share knowledge and build collective support structures.
