Apr. 13: Philly Says ICE Out! City Council Hearing & First Vote

April 06, 2026

Monday, April 13, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Philadelphia City Hall, 4th Floor
1400 JFK Blvd, Philadelphia, PA

In January, the ICE Out legislative package was introduced into Philadelphia’s City Council with 15 of 17 Councilmembers signing on as co-sponsors. Now, City Council will hold a hearing and the first of two votes on the ICE Out legislation.

Join ALC and our coalition partners in City Hall for the hearing and vote to demand that City Councilmembers vote YES on all seven pieces of the legislative package so that no city money, personnel, data, or public space is used to deport our neighbors. Bring your ID and a snack – it’s critical to pack the room for the whole day.

What will the ICE Out legislation do?

  • Protect community spaces by limiting ICE access to non-public areas of city-owned or managed buildings
  • Block city property from being used for immigration enforcement or ICE staging
  • Strengthen limits on collaboration with ICE, preventing deputization of local law enforcement
  • Protect personal data and privacy, restricting information-sharing for immigration enforcement
  • Make immigration or citizenship status a protected class under Philadelphia’s Fair Practices framework

This legislation reflects years of organizing and immigrant community leadership. Let’s show up strong together and demand that all Councilmembers vote YES on the ICE Out legislation!
