On March 26, 2026, in a unanimous decision, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court found the sentence of mandatory life without parole, known as death by incarceration, for felony murder to be unconstitutional.

Over 1,000 people in PA state prisons are now serving an unconstitutional sentence and the PA Supreme Court has given the Pennsylvania General Assembly 120 days to create a remedy for this unjust situation.

We must mobilize now to push the legislature to pass meaningful second-degree legislation!
