WTAE ABC: ”

An Allegheny County Jail correctional officer is no longer on the job following a deadly stabbing last week.

County officials told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that one correctional officer is on unpaid leave while the investigation plays out.

On May 13, Allegheny County police said multiple incarcerated people assaulted an inmate who was later identified as 44-year-old Tyrone Good.

According to county officials, Good was stabbed and later died at the hospital.

Good was accused of killing his girlfriend, Michelle Sturdivant, in December.

‘We’ve seen a lot of things happen in the jail before, where we’ve had people assaulted by corrections officers and they typically don’t move this fast,’ said Tanisha Long. ‘So, for somebody to be placed on unpaid leave, this soon after it happened, that says a lot. It signals a lot to me.'”
