In May, the PA Supreme Court ruled in Commonwealth v. Derek Lee that mandatory life without parole/death by incarceration sentences for 2nd-degree murder are unconstitutional. They gave the PA General Assembly until July 24 to pass legislation to rectify these illegal sentences.

Now, time has basically run out for the state legislature to take action. Join ALC and our sister org Straight Ahead for an update on the legislative battle and the next steps our movement will take in the courts to free our people.
