As an abolitionist organization the objective of releasing people from prison – in individual cases and as a result of strategies and policies of decarceration – is at the heart of our mission. The need that incarcerated people have to rejoin and make positive and healthy contributions to their families and communities underlies the politics of resistance and struggle against mass incarceration that our clients and other imprisoned human rights defenders and activists advocate.
ALC is working to bring our clients home to the families and communities that need them. We are actively working on cases challenging unjust convictions and sentences.
