Emily Cleath (she/her) is ALC’s Communications Manager. She has more than two decades of strategic communications experience in the nonprofit sector, from large institutions to small community organizations. Most of that work was on issues of economic justice, food insecurity, and welfare rights. She also has years of experience volunteering for progressive electoral campaigns, as well as labor union, political, and community organizing and mobilizing experience. She sees the fight against mass incarceration and inhumane prison conditions as integral to breaking racist, classist, and ableist systems. Her passion for this work extends from a life-long desire to reduce suffering and ensure the equal rights and value of all living beings.
