Kaitlin Shultz

December 15, 2024

Kaitlin Shultz (she/her) joined the ALC team in 2024, and currently serves as ALC’s administrative manager. Kaitlin earned her B.A. in linguistics and anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2019, and has worn many hats in years since, most recently: farm worker, labor organizer, and devoted community servant. Drawing on her diverse background, she assists with bookkeeping and financial compliance, and manages day-to-day operations at ALC’s Pittsburgh office.

Kaitlin is especially passionate about food justice and believes that the lack of healthy food in impoverished communities is a human rights issue, which often disproportionately affects justice-impacted communities. Much of Kaitlin’s time outside of work is spent redistributing fresh foods by various means, including cooking meals and delivering groceries to families in need. With the help of her neighbors, she piloted several weekly free hot lunch programs in the city, with a goal of expanding food access in Pittsburgh’s most vulnerable neighborhoods, including the Hill District, where she resides with her wife and their two cats.
